When a person ask for forgiveness, it's expected not to repeat the same mistake that cause you to ask forgiveness in the first place. Not repeating the same mistake, turning your back against sin and coming back to Christ means repentance. Ofcourse, as humans, we can not be perfect. Yet God wants us to have the heart that desires repentance.

Each day that He has given us is the day that He gives us chances to repent, to turn away from sin and coming back to His way. The heart that knows we are not always right, the heart that knows without him there is no way we can be Holy. The heart that wants to inivte the Holy Spirit to transform them from the inside-out.Only through repentance we will be able to live with Christ.
